About our Seniors…

The Seniors are a very friendly and active group who welcome all male Club members over the age of 55 to join them. Roll Ups are held every Tuesday and Friday morning, and provide an excellent opportunity to meet new friends. The ball draw, which takes place at 09:20, ensures members mix up and get to know each other. A small group go out earlier.

Three yellow-tee stableford’s are played summertime and five wintertime. Two turkey trots are played just before Christmas. The Captain versus Vice-Captain’s fun competition takes place before the AGM. A match between the Ladies and the Seniors is played.

Four competitions are held annually:

  • The Steward Trophy

  • The Thomson Trophy

  • The Seniors Championship

  • Jim’s Jug

A fifth competition, The Whittome Bowl, is a knock out competition open to all male Club members over the age of 55.

The Club organises a Seniors Invitation every year.

An Away Day at Stoke Rochford GC has been arranged for 8th July 2025.

We have a very good fixture list of matches against the Seniors of other clubs in Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. These matches provide a wonderful opportunity to visit and play other courses for the cost of a lunch. All male Club members over the age of 55 are eligible to play in these matches. There is no need to change for lunch at most clubs, one or two insist on smart casual. Jacket and ties are out, however, old fashioned puddings are still the norm.
