The Ramsey Club was originally founded in 1922, consisting of a bar, a billiard table and a card room.
It wasn’t until 1950 that a change of premises saw a bowling green introduced, and later in 1965, a 9-hole golf course was opened with a match between 2 Pro’s & 2 Amateurs inc. Ryder Cup players Dai Rees & Peter Allis.
The now an 18-hole course opened in 1968 with an exhibition match inc Gary Player who scored a 65 inc 4 birdies & an eagle on the 10th and is set amongst some of the oldest trees in the area, Ramsey offers a challenging experience to golfers of all levels. Between that and the still superb bowling green – the club has a reputation for always offering a warm welcome!
